Kohala: The Print Closest to Home
Some prints take time.
KOHALA began on our honeymoon, on a return trip home to Big Island. We wandered the coast where I grew up, and Austy sketched the plants I loved most. He said they reminded him of me.
That’s how Kohala was born: soft, special, and deeply personal.
You’ve seen these gentle florals for years on our packaging and mailers. But this is the first time we’ve ever printed them on both sides of our swim fabric.
Kohala appears as a lining print in our 2025 collections, but we always wanted this print to have her own moment. Different from our previous drops, Kohala is printed on double-smooth fabric, so it feels just as soft on the inside as it looks on the outside.
On the outside, Kohala is a beautiful dark brown, mauve-ish and white floral print with whimsical circular patterns. And, if you look closely, you’ll find hidden moʻo and kupukupu ferns. Kohala is the kind of print you might miss if you aren’t paying attention. It’s earthy, subtle, almost hidden, and that’s exactly the point. Every Tai Swim print carries meaning. None are random. This one might be the most meaningful of all.
Hidden mo'o featured in new Tai Swim print "KOHALA" - can you spot him?
Even better? Kohala pairs with every piece in the 2025 drop that shares the same lining. It’s designed to blend, match, and last, so you can wear your swim your way, for a long time. That’s part of our sustainability mission, too: make less, wear more, and let your bikinis grow with you!

Love,
Tai + Austin
