Tai Swim Launches “Shop My Closet” Series Focused on Clothing Repair, Outfit Rewear, and Sustainable Shopping Habits
Tai Swim has announced a new monthly content series called Shop My Closet by Tai.
The series documents monthly outfits styled from new and archived Tai Swim collections. Each installment includes clothing reworn, repaired, altered, or styled in new combinations.
The series launches on Instagram and is accompanied by a monthly blog post documenting looks worn throughout the month.

Tai Swim has encouraged swimwear customization and garment alterations since the brand launched.
Founder Tai began sewing at approximately 10 years old and is self-taught. Clothing repairs and alterations remain part of Tai Swim’s product philosophy.
The brand has encouraged customers to repair, tailor, and customize swimwear rather than replace items when possible.

Tai Swim has produced swimwear and activewear since 2019.
The brand uses recycled materials for swimwear and activewear. Clothing is produced in cotton-based fabrics.
New Shop My Closet posts will mix current Tai Swim releases with older collections. The goal is to increase repeat wear and encourage longer product life.
The series documents outfit repetition, garment styling, and clothing repair.

The average U.S. consumer purchases significantly more clothing today than in previous decades. Clothing consumption has increased while garment wear time has declined.
Most consumer goods sold in Hawaiʻi arrive by ship or air due to geographic isolation. Clothing, home goods, and packaged products are transported across long distances before reaching stores.
Garment repair can reduce replacement purchases. Basic repairs often require thread, a needle, or simple sewing tools available at low cost.
A spool of thread often costs only a few dollars and can be used for multiple repairs.
Small repairs such as seams, loose straps, missing stitching, or minor fit changes can often be completed at home.
Tai Swim plans to share simple repair examples throughout the series.

The Shop My Closet series also addresses overconsumption and repeat purchasing habits.
Hawaiʻi has an active limited-release and product-drop culture. Product launches, limited collections, and wait lines for brand merchandise are common parts of local retail culture.
Tai Swim’s monthly styling series encourages customers to revisit clothing already owned before purchasing additional items.
The series asks participants to identify garments worn most often, pieces worth repairing, and items that still fit into daily life.

Future Tai Swim community events will include clothing swaps and repair-focused gatherings.
Participants will be encouraged to bring clothing they no longer wear for exchange, reuse, or styling inspiration.
Monthly Shop My Closet installments will continue online through Instagram and Tai Swim blog updates.
New outfit reports, styling combinations, and clothing reworn across seasons will be documented throughout the year.
